HARTACHE OR HARTBREAK - WHICH ONE WILL CHOOSE?

The routes are tough whichever option you choose!! 

9 (Hartache) or 18 (Hartbreak) miles that takes in some of the highlights of the Hartland Peninsula.

Miles of lovely Devonshire coast paths, trails and stunning bluebell fields. This is an epic adventure that will take you through pleasure and pain and into the heaven of Devon.

 

Strict limit of 450 runners MAX. No entries on the day under any circumstance. WHERE AND WHEN? **NEW VENUE ALERT** Thanks to the kind permission of Sir Hugh and Lady Stucley the start and finish will be at The Warren, top of Hartland Quay, EX39 6DU

Sunday 5th May 2024, 9.45am for Hartbreakers and 10.00am for Hartachers!!

 
Registration will open at 8.30am.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST Hartache (Half) - £25.00 Unaffiliated / £23 Affiliated Hartbreak (Full) - £40.00 Unaffiliated / £38.00 Affiliated There will be a non-refundable booking by Race Entry Online.

ENTRY RULES You must be 18 on race day to enter Race run under license from ARC (permit number 24/0068) Once you have entered, there are no refunds Race number to be collected on the day It is against UKA Rules for Competition and Hartland Hillbillies race rules to run wearing another entrant's number or without an official registered race entry and number. Runners ignoring this will be disqualified.

T-SHIRTS A special Hartbreaker or Hartacher technical t-shirt can be purchased when entering at a bargain price of £14.50. These must be collected on the day.

 
TRANSFERS

Transfers can be made through the entry platform up until the 28th April 2024. No changes after this date.

NOMINATED CHARITIES The nominated charities for 2024 are Clovelly RNLI and our local community groups.

 

CATEGORIES
If you win a prize, hang around to collect it as we will not be posting trophies out, they'll go on my mantelpiece and I'll pretend I've won them!!!

Prize Categories: Male & Female, 1st, 2nd and 3rd and plus some randoms chucked in for fun!!

 

CUT OFF
For Hartbreakers there will be one cut off, as you come back through The Warren Field before going out onto the second half.  You must have passed through this within 2.5 hours, by 12.15pm.

The second half is considerably harder and longer than the first half hence the cut off time. If you plan to walk the entire route then this is not for you.

 

DATA PROTECTION
Your contact information will only be used in line with the permissions you grant us during the registration process. Online Race Entry is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office.
Your data will not be passed on to any third parties and will only be made available to Hartland Hillbillies.


WAIVER 1. Participation in the event is entirely at your own risk and by entering the event, participants acknowledge that we shall not be liable for death, injury, loss or damage arising from participation in the event, save to the extent that it is caused by our negligence. 2. I understand that participating in this event is potentially hazardous, and that I should not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained. 3. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I assume full and complete responsibility for any injury or accident which may occur during the event, or while I am on the premises of the event 4. I also am aware of and assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, effect of weather, traffic, and conditions of the trail. 5. I, for myself and my heirs and executors, hereby waive, release and forever discharge the event organisers, sponsors, promoters and each of their agents, representatives, successors and assigns, and all other persons associated with the event, for all my liabilities, claims, actions, or damages that I may have against them arising out of or in any way connected with my participation in this event. 6. I accept that there will be an alcohol feed station (beer) and it is my personal responsibility to ensure that I maintain self control and be able to manage my safety. I accept the inherent risk involved with this event. I declare that: 1. 'I' am aware of the risks inherent in the race. In particular, this is a demanding trail race on the coast path with difficult sections. 2. 'I' have no medical conditions that would endanger me or other participants from taking part. 3. 'I' will abide by the instructions given by the event organiser, staff and volunteers. 4. 'I am aware that there will be an alcohol feed station (beer) but I am under no obligation to consume it. Should I choose to take alcoholic drink I do so at my own risk and will remain in a fit state to complete the course in a safe manner. 5. I will not hold the organisers liable for any injuries or losses that occur as a consequence of not following their instructions. 6. I understand that if the race is canceled due to weather or circumstances beyond the organisers control there are no refunds available 7. control there are no refunds available I, for myself and my heirs and executors, hereby waive, release and forever discharge the event organisers, sponsors, promoters and each of their agents, representatives, successors and assigns, and all other persons associated with the event, for all my liabilities, claims, actions, or damages that I may have against them arising out of or in any way connected with my participation in this event 8.
